Is the estimate really free?
Yes — free and no obligation. We walk the property, take measurements, and give you a written price. There is no charge whether you hire us or not.
Why can't you quote over the phone?
Because labor is roughly half to sixty percent of installed cost, and labor depends on the ground. Slope, rock, access, tree roots, where the property line actually runs and gate placement are not knowable from an address. Anyone quoting firm sight-unseen is either padding heavily or setting up a change order later.
Is the price firm or an estimate?
We give a firm written price after seeing the property. Ask us — and ask anyone else bidding — what circumstances would change the number. Rock, buried debris or a line that needs re-routing are the usual candidates, and you want those spelled out before work starts.
What should I have ready?
Helpful but not required: a rough idea of where you want the fence, your property survey or plat if you have one, any HOA covenant documents, and the locations of anything buried that a utility locate will not mark — irrigation, invisible dog fence, landscape lighting, gas to a grill, power to a shed.
Do I need to know my property line first?
It helps, and we will flag it if the line looks unclear. Tennessee has no statute that draws your boundary — your deed and the county plat govern, and a fence left in the wrong place long enough can affect where the legal line runs. On an ambiguous lot a survey costs less than moving a fence.
Who handles the permit?
The property owner obtains permits and HOA approvals, and we require a copy of the approved permit before installing. We will tell you which rules apply to your specific address — they differ by several feet between neighboring towns here.
How long until you can start?
Varies by season — spring books up fastest. Once scheduled, most residential fences go up in one to three days. Budget about three business days beforehand for the 811 utility locate, which usually sets the start date rather than our calendar.
What should I ask other companies I'm getting quotes from?
